Since its inception, City at Peace has asked its young people "What are the capacities
that you and other teenagers need to develop to achieve a 'city at peace'?" Through analysis of their
responses in accordance with current research, City at Peace staff have identified six outcomes that
it strives to meet with each individual participant and each group as a community. They are:
1) increased understanding of other cultures and competence in building relationships with peers from other cultures
2) improved conflict resolution skills and the development of the will to resolve conflicts
3) improved leadership skills
4) understanding of and initiative toward community action for social change
5) positive and powerful sense of the future
6) producing performing arts excellence
For the future, City at Peace will continue to ask this question of its youth
and will continue to refine and adjust its outcomes to meet their needs and the aim of a "city at peace".
