Our goals and desired outcomes are youth focused. We strive to develop our young people's capacity to evaluate, plan and enact their own positive development as well as to work with others to do the same. They learn to work together to become effective, problem-solving, highly-engaged citizens in their own lives and those of their communities. The goals for each youth participant in City at Peace-Los Angeles are achieved when he or she reaches six outcomes:
1) Cross-cultural Collaboration:
Participants gain the experience of building meaningful cross-cultural relationships and working together in a diverse context.
2) Non-violent Conflict Resolution:
Participants learn how to resolve the conflicts they face without resorting to violence.
3) Leadership:
Participants understand their responsibility and accountability to others learn to act on that recognition, and develop the maturity, dependability and communication skills necessary to succeed.
4) Community Action and Responsibility:
Participants gain the awareness of their responsibility to their communities, and are capable of leading positive change in their communities and the world around them.
5) Sense of Future:
