Audiences for City at Peace performances are as diverse as the cast itself. Over 110,000
individuals have attended City at Peace performances - over 80% of whom are non-traditional theater-goers
and do not attend theater regularly.
City at Peace evaluates each performance to learn what our audiences think about our shows. Here is some
of what they have to say about City at Peace:
"The program I saw in New York was the most wonderful, moving experience I have had in the theater for many years."
"The BEST show I have ever seen."
"Your performance was deeply moving and fiercely spectacular. Forget make-believe: the unsparing authenticity
and raw, raging, physical reality which you bring to the stage makes most theater look like pale pretense...I
cannot see how a person with half a conscience could see your work and remain unmoved, unchanged or
undetermined to stand with you..."
"Inspiring! I loved this experience!"
"I liked the diversity of the cast. It seemed to open them up to their own potential and possibilities."
"I don't attend plays a lot - but this was wonderful!"
"It was great because it really talked about life. I think every teenager should see this!"
"I really didn't expect to see something as powerful as this. I would love to see more of them. This show was VERY good!"
"Your performance was outstanding!"
"The best show I have ever seen. No Words. Just Killa! Everyone did great. I am truly impressed. Wow!"
City at Peace does not accept anyone into the program, or assign parts in shows, on the basis of talent.
That being true, City at Peace also strives for artistic excellence in all its activities. Which means
that our young people, regardless of their abilities, are expected to achieve excellence in their work.
After each performance, our audiences act as critics and rate the artistic quality of our work.
